Lockton Artists are pleased to announce they will be hosting a weekend of exhibitions and open studios throughout Lockton in September. 18th - 20th September will see the artists hold an exhibition at Lockton Tea Rooms & Gallery and The Loft, as well as a number of the artists opening their studio doors to give you a behind-the-scenes look at some work in progress and their creative spaces. Finding the Dramatic Sue Slack is delighted to announce the dates of her solo show, ‘Finding the Dramatic’, at Ryedale Folk Museum Gallery, Hutton-le-Hole YO62 6UA. Saturday 18th July-31st August 2026 (open Saturday to Thursday, closed on Fridays). Entry is free to the gallery. Lockton Artists were invited by Lockton Tea Rooms & Gallery to create a brand new body of work to display in response to the theme of "Reflections". Each artist has interpreted this in their own unique way using their medium of choice, but all using the same frame as a basis for the work. Mike Nowill & Sue Slack both took part in this years event in Lockton. Mike Nowill exhibited his collection of wooden bird & animal sculptures at Lockton Tea Rooms & Gallery over the two weekends. He had a very successful Open Studio with many happy buyers walking away with unique, one-off pieces. Sue Slack enjoyed a successful North Yorkshire Open Studios this year with nearly 200 total visitors over the two weekends and good sales of original paintings, prints and greetings

The group is delighted to welcome a new member, Emily Davies. Emily is a mosaic artist whose work combines vibrant vitreous glass tiles, stained glass, beads, nuggets, recycled glass and found objects. A lifelong passion for beautifully illustrated books and story-telling has led her to pursue the creation of stories through mosaic.
